September

Back to school.  Joey starts his senior year. This was the senior sunrise breakfast, September 6th.  It was super early in the morning and on that day there was so much smoke from the fires that they canceled all other outdoor activities for the day.

Sidewalk walk art

Issaquah Sidewalk Art Festival
Madison and Susan each signed up for a spot.
Thank goodness it was in the shade.
Lots of people came to help
Madison finished hers up with some 3-D additions
While waiting for Susan she did her favorite activity...climbing trees.
Calvin was just hanging around too

Working hard
Susan won a prize for her sidewalk picture.

It was a fun afternoon.

More Hiking

The mountain I am trying to conquer or reclaim is Tiger Mountain. I have been to the top twice since my accident.
Here is what it looks like July 9th 2017.  I have a ways to go before I feel comfortable descending it.
The kids have been doing some hiking of their own.  Here they are at Franklin Falls.

Climbing Mountains

Joey wanted to climb mountains this summer for his adventure.  He got some of his friends at church on board with him as well as his dad and brother, David.
First mountain was Mt. St. Helens.  Here is Joey standing on top of that active volcano.

David made it to the top too. Here is his summit selfie.  They report it was a tough hike and Dad didn't quite make it to the top.
Joseph went on to conquer Mt. Adams.  Here he is on top.  He and his friend Cooper were the only ones to summit this mountain.  David needed to return to work and dad was in the support role at the base of the mountain.  All of them had a great time.  This was a wonderful adventure for the boys. What mountains are they going to conquer next?

Happy Fourth of July

We started out the day with cinnamon rolls and a home town parade.
Madison decorated her bike and Calvin decorated his scooter.

Love David's glasses and Madison's bow.
Grandpa joined them
Joey joined in too
Then the fireworks

We ended the day with s'mores
